Our restaurant pays homage to the unique cultures that make up the tapestry of Carla’s Canadian heritage. Our dishes meld Asian and Pacific Northwest influences with the very best of Scottish ingredients.
Chef Carla’s dishes celebrate the cornucopia of John’s productive croft garden. The menu features moorland leaves, flowers and roots found on the croft. The restaurant is proud of our herb garden full of interesting, historic plants grown from heirloom seeds. We cure, smoke and brine— as islanders here have been doing for hundreds of years, incorporating the foraged flavours of bog myrtle, thyme, heather and sorrel.
Winning many accolades in Scotland and the UK, we continue to strive for excellence in all we do. Carla is a chef dedicated to serving contemporary food focused on natural and seasonal products. Her spirit of generosity is evident in all she does.
Although we are not a vegetarian restaurant we do our upmost to accommodate any vegetarians who wish to dine with us, and are extremely pleased to have become known for our vibrant vegetarian courses.
At Ninth Wave we focus on quality, distinctive Organic and Biodynamic wines. Our wine list is modest but well-chosen, to enhance our signature dishes and your dining experience. We offer a creative selection of handpicked wines from: fine, small family-run vineyards to well-known labels to award-winning wines made by emerging producers.
We offer multi -award winners such as: refreshing Gruner Veltliner Loiserberg to pair with our hand-dived scallops, opulent Albarino Aldegas Galegas to accompany our succulent lobster, and spicy Vacqueyras Le Clos Domaine Montrius as companion to our wild Mull venison. For celebrations or just a taste of luxury we have a tempting selection of Champagnes.
Our cocktail list pays its respect to fresh herbs and ingredients grown on the croft. Our own finger limes, bog myrtle, sea lettuce, black mint and fresh cucumber can be found in our concoctions.
We also pride ourselves on our hand-picked variety of quality single malt whiskies, island ales and selection of small batch Scottish gins.
